C-tick
A / c-tick is a certification mark issued by the Australian Communications Authority (ACA) for communication equipment.
Manufacturers and importers must follow the next steps to use a-tick:
1. The product is tested according to the acaq technical standard
2. Register with ACA to use a / c-tick
3. Fill in the declaration of conformity form and keep it with the product conformity record
4. Label a / c-tick on communication products or equipment
5. A-tick for sale to consumers is only applicable to communication products. Most electronic products apply for c-tick. However, if an electronic product applies for a-tick, it is not necessary to apply for c-tick separately.
Since November 2001, the EMI of Australia / New Zealand has applied for merger; if the products are to be sold in these two countries, the following documents must be completed before marketing, so that the ACA (Australian Communications Authority) or New Zealand (Ministry of economic development) authorities can spot check at any time:
1. Test report? It is only valid if it is issued by Nata or a certification agency mutually agreed with Nata, such as nvlap or A2LA approved laboratory. Otherwise, it requires a high probability of sample delivery.
2. "Application to use the c-tick mark" form - must be signed by an Australian / New Zealand company or importer.
3. "Supplier's declaration of conformity" form - must be signed by an Australian / New Zealand company or importer. The manufacturer responsible for signing shall be responsible for ensuring that the products sold still conform to the EMI regulations.
4. Original design drawings and specifications (such as circuit diagram, block diagram, user's manual, service manual, etc.).
5. Describe the production inspection procedures during production to ensure the maintenance of EMI characteristics.
6. Any change description and necessary test records that may affect EMI.
Certification period: 1-2 weeks
The c-tick mark must be marked with the information of the Australian supplier according to the regulations, so that ACA can effectively trace back to the supplier responsible for the product EMC when conducting spot check on the market. Information identification includes four aspects:
1. Registered name and address of Australian supplier.
2. Australian company number
3. Number issued by ACA to Australian supplier.
4. Australian registered trademark used in the Australian market.
C-tick sequential label radio communication equipment or special electrical and electronic equipment must meet the relevant label notice requirements, otherwise they cannot be sold or supplied to Australia. The c-tick is a sequential label, which is applicable to the material items covered by the label notice below
1. Radio communication (sequence label with transmission) Notice 2001 brief description conforms to the arrangement adjusted by EMC
2. Radio equipment (sequence label) Notice No. 1 1996 to give a brief description of the arrangement of radio communication subject to adjustment
3. Radio communication (sequence label electromagnetic radiation) Notice 2003 brief description subject to EMR adjustment arrangement
Under EMC's adjustment arrangement, the product must be labeled in sequence before being supplied to Australia. It is also a sequential label for non radio communication products that must comply with the electromagnetic radiation (EMR) rules. For telecommunication products, EMR is covered by a-tick sequential label. The sequential label on c-tick must have supplier information that can identify suppliers. This information may take the supplier code issued by ACA, the number of the Australian company or other forms detailed in the relevant label notice. More information about the use of c-tick mark can be found on the ACA website
The EMC system in Australia divides products into three levels. Suppliers must register with ACA and apply for c-tick mark before selling Level 2 and level 3 products.
Level 1 products refer to products with low interference radiation to equipment using wireless spectrum, such as manual switch, simple relay, one-way squirrel cage induction motor, resistance, etc. For level I products, the supplier must sign the declaration of conformity and provide the product description. Level 1 products can voluntarily apply for the c-tick mark, but after choosing to use the mark, the supplier shall provide the declaration of conformity and product description, as well as the conformity record to prove that the products described in the declaration have met the relevant EMC standards. There is no requirement for test location, and internal test is allowed.
Class II products refer to products with high interference and radiation to equipment using wireless spectrum, such as switching power supply, electric welding machine, dimmer, most household appliances, etc. In addition to signing the declaration of conformity and providing the product description, the supplier shall also provide the test report in accordance with the relevant standards. If there is no relevant standard, the supplier shall provide the technical structure document, and the test site shall not make requirements, and internal test is allowed.
Level 3 products refer to products with extremely high interference and radiation to devices using wireless spectrum, i.e. products covered by cispr11 and cispr22. At present, the communication terminal products are still included in this scope, but from November 7, 2003, the terminal products will be classified into level II products. In addition to signing the declaration of conformity and providing the product description, the supplier shall also provide the test report issued by the approved testing agency. At the same time, the quality management system certificate issued by QSM certification agency shall also be issued.
