RED
EU red certification introduction
The 1999 / 5 / EC Directive has been implemented for many years, and many places can not meet the existing products. In fact, the EU has already started to draft new directives in 2007, but the progress is not so fast, so in 2011, it submitted a draft to the European Commission, and finally on May 22, 2014, the EU officially released a new version of the wireless equipment directive red 2014 / 53 / EU, which is based on the EU's new CE framework resolution 768 / 2008 / EC 2014 / 53 / EU replaces the original EU Wireless Equipment Directive R & tte-d 1999 / 5 / EC. Since the official release and entry into force of the new EU directive, there is a two-year transition period. From June 13, 2016, the original R & TTE Directive 1999 / 5 / EC will be repealed, and the products evaluated according to the old directive can continue to be sold until June 13, 2017. After June 13, 2017, only wireless devices evaluated in accordance with the new red 2014 / 53 / EU are allowed to be sold in the EU market. The purpose of the new directive is to clarify the scope of spectrum use, improve the effectiveness of spectrum use, and facilitate the implementation of laws and regulations and market monitoring among member countries.
Before the wireless products can be legally sold in EU countries, they must be tested according to the red directive to obtain approval, and they must also have CE mark. Wireless remote control products must meet the requirements of red directive red 2014 / 53 / EU.
Red certification scope
1. Short distance wireless remote control products (SRD), such as: remote control toy car, remote control alarm system, remote control doorbell, remote control switch, remote control mouse, keyboard, etc.;
2. Professional radio remote control products (PMR), such as: professional wireless walkie talkie, wireless microphone, etc.;
3. Radiophone CTO, CT1, CT1
4. ISDN (digital telephone product);
5. DECT (enhanced digital wireless telephone);
6. Mobile GSM, WCDMA, LTE test
7. Bluetooth products such as: Bluetooth headset;
8. Induction data transmission equipment with working frequency less than 9 kHz;
9. Radio receiver equipment.
Difference between red certification and old R & TTE
1. Red products only include wireless communication and wireless identification equipment (such as RFID, radar, mobile detection, etc.). If RF equipment is not used for communication or identification, it will be under the control of EMC and LVD
2. The TTE is removed, so the red command is only used for wireless products
3. The radio receiver is now included in the scope of red instruction (previously covered in EMC instruction and LVD instruction of low voltage);
4. The lower limit of command coverage frequency has been cancelled (the control start frequency of R & TTE was 9 kHz before), while the upper limit is still 3000 GHz;
5. The evaluation opinion of the notified body has been replaced by the "type inspection certificate"
6. The manufacturer may use the CE mark with the notified body number (full quality assurance - type H) only after its quality system has been evaluated by the notified body
7. The requirement for class II equipment to inform national spectrum agencies is no longer required
8. The identification (warning number) of class II equipment is no longer needed, but the warning of restricted use in some countries still needs to appear on the product packaging;
9. It is no longer necessary to display the CE mark in the user's manual, but the manual must indicate the frequency band and transmission power used by the RF
10. Kits for personal assessment are no longer controlled (i.e. no red certification is required);
11. The new directive calls for a unified charger
12. The address and contact information of the manufacturer and the importer must appear on the device, and can appear in the user manual when the device is too small.
The existing changes and other future changes will affect the product certification of your company in this year and the next few years, so it is necessary to take the new order into account in the design and marketing of your company's products from now on, especially for the new products added to the order, such as
Radio receiver equipment
Inductive data transmission equipment with working frequency < 9 kHz.
According to the new EU framework resolution 768 / 2008 / EC, the red directive also clearly defines the responsibilities of manufacturers, importers, distributors and EU representatives. The name of the manufacturer and importer and the addressable address must be identified on the product or on the accompanying instructions.
Red certification test items
1. Electromagnetic compatibility test (EMC test)
2. Safety test LVD (in the new directive, this test is also required for RF products with battery input);
3. Radio communication equipment test (RF test) according to European ETSI standard
4. Notification of spectrum allowed in Europe
5. CTR (TBR) test
6. Electrical safety and health protection test (SAR assessment).
